RPM donates DVD players, movies to Blessing Cancer Center


When cancer patient Dave Comer was going through chemotherapy treatments at the Blessing Cancer Center, he thought it would be nice if DVD players were available for patients so they could watch movies and make the time pass faster. Comer, marketing manager for the Quincy Gems and better known in the community as "Chicken Man," shared the idea with his friend Kevin Reed of Reed Promotional Media in Quincy.

"Cans for Canines"


Reed Promotional Media, "RPM," will be sponsoring "Cans for Canines," a fund drive to benefit Madonna House, and the Quincy Humane Society. Canned goods for donation to the Madonna House's food bank may be dropped off at Reed Promotional Media, "RPM" at 811 Maine during regular business hours. For every canned good donated, "RPM" will donate $1 to the Quincy Humane Society, up to $500 total.

'Q Town Karaoke' contest set for Saturday


Get your voices ready, music lovers and wannabe singers - the first "Q Town Karaoke" contest is Saturday at the Oakley-Lindsay Center in Quincy.

Open to the public and with no advance registration required, the contest will feature 20 people drawn at random to sing their favorite songs.

The winner gets $500 and a $500 advertising package donated by Reed Promotional Media, and other prizes are from the Abbey Restaurant. Any drawing winners who don't want to sing can pass their tickets to somebody who does.
